This is a heads up that I may take the site offline sometime this Sunday afternoon CET in order to do some maintenance. This could take an hour or more. Hopefully it will improve performance somewhat while I experiment with a new server.

I think what I'll do is a backup, and then create a second database and reimport everything. This may be faster than trying to optimize the database in place. The stories data take 1GB+ and could benefit from being "defragmented".

Koohii is typically less busy on the weekend, although not by much ;) So there isn't really any ideal time to take the site down, with the top two geographical locations for the audience being USA and Japan (if you're curious, see Audience by Location - August 2019 courtesy of Google Analytics).
