  • 26 April 2010Flying to India!

One week later than planned, I'm taking off for the heights of Himachal Pradesh, north west India!

From 28 April to 18 July I will be in India. I will spend approx seven weeks volunteering around Dharamsala, with Volunteer Tibet. There I will help build a website and otherwise help with maintenance or teaching computer skills.

I'll post some updates during my stay at fabd.posterous.com.

I thought this would be a great time to do a donation run. Do you find the website significantly helpful in your studies? Did you hesitate about donating before? Now is a great time to donate. Until July 18, any donations will go towards not just supporting the website, but also offset my expenses in India, and indirectly help the Tibetan cause... All at the same time pretty cool huh? (I am pushing it a little bit, but hey it's true! ;-) )

Instead of making a single donation you may want to show your support for the next three months, while I stay in India. A simple way to do this is to use the recurring donation. You can cancel these at any time.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated in the past. Thank you! You have helped to keep this site going since mid 2005.

  • 2 April 2010First we had a mouse, now we have a rabbit!

Today I am thrilled to introduce our new sponsor White Rabbit Press!

Besides their beautiful Kanji and Kana flash card sets which they are well known for, White Rabbit Press are also the creators of the Tokyo Realtime Audio Guided Walking Tours.

At the WRP store you will find a wide variety of Japanese language learning material as well as cultural items: hard to find language learning textbooks, electronic dictionaries, kanji learning games for the Nintendo DS/DSi, and even a broad selection of Japanese manga and magazines.

The White Rabbit Press store ships worldwide from both US and Japan (depending on the products ordered and shipping address). Check them out!

  • 1 April 2010Reviewing the Kanji iPhone app in development!

UPDATE Do you have an iPhone or iTouch? John is now looking for testers for his Reviewing the Kanji iPhone application!

John (johnrb) is working on a Reviewing the Kanji iPhone application! John is helping out on the open source project and also has kindly made the iPhone app available on Github.

Many members have asked for better iPhone support through bug reports or feedback on past website updates. Now there's your chance to get a native iPhone application!

John has been very prolific these past weeks. Please help him out and encourage him with ideas and feature requests. You can also help with testing if you have an iPhone.
